Over the last decade, the diversification of the area's solid economic base has been a departure from the past. For over 50 years the Kennedy Space Center and NASA were the engine that powered the jobs and business development of the region, and they will always remain a part of our rich and storied history. As the program is now set to wrap up, with the final two launches in 2011, the facilities are being converted and renamed to “Exploration Park" and will become a commercial launch complex.
